Tacx Neo with Edge in ERG mode - Unstable power only after pause

This is a very specific fault.

  • Have Tacx Neo T2800 connected to Edge 1050 via ANT+
  • Run a workout in ERG mode from the Edge
  • Observe the Training is working well
  • Stop cycling for a few seconds (Doesn't matter if you pause the training or not)
  • Observe the ERG power not being stable after resuming cycling
    • Specifically, I get a brief spike in resistance every few seconds, as if you suddenly slammed the brakes completely.
    • There's no rythm to the spike timing, it seems to be between 10 and 60 seconds between spikes but random every time

Conditions:

  • This ONLY happens in ERG mode, all other modes are fine
  • This ONLY happens when controlling the Tacx via an Edge, not when using the Tacx android app
  • This ONLY happens after I stopped cycling for a bit
  • I do not get any message about disconnects etc.
  • SOMETIMES it seems to be fine again after setting the Tacx to Grade mode for a minute and then going back to ERG
  • Turning off all other ANT+ devices, unlinking any other sensors from the Edge, and having Bluetooth disconnected from my Tacx training app phone doesn't change anything
