Neo2 bad slip in Zwift fixed

My new Neo2 was having bad pedal slip feeling even in the big ring lower gears on zwift so I had to set trainer difficulty to 50% and even then riding up to radio tower was horrible. I could barely use granny ring in any gear without slip over 300w.

i appear to have fixed it by going into tacx training app and setting my weight to 75kg with 6kg bike. Looks like by default it was something like 95kg and 10kg bike.
just ridden up the Alpe and I can now even stand up at 450w (briefly!) in granny 3rd and it doesn’t slip. Also when it does start to slip it’s a much smaller amount. Previously it would almost give up with minimal pedal resistance.

Thought it was worth sharing this as it has transformed my experience of this trainer.

  • Till the radio tower you need to pedal at least 40-50mins, so the trainer was hot (and probably overheated and slipped, there is a "melting" feeling and You felt that), if you go to the bottom of the Alpe, that is 10min and the trainer is much colder so there is (still) no slip. If you could stand up at the end of the Alpe , so around 50-60mins, thats good. Btw the radio tower is much steeper than any part of the Alpe. Usually i go with 30-40% TD on the radio tower and with high rpm (do not pedal with low cad / 40-60rpm/ there, only if the TD is very low, the Neo1/2 needs higher flywheel speed for a given watt, the 2T is much better , there is no slip with lower flywheel speed neither, so you can use higher TD setting in Zwift)

just FYI, what you modify bodyweight and bike weight that has effect only for Tacx App with Tacx videos, nothing for the Zwift...
