Epix 2 no longer visible on Tacx Training software

I have a Tacx Smart flow and have been using my Epix Gen 2 has a heart monitor for the last few months. As of yesterday, my Epix 2 is no longer available under device manager in Tacx Training (Android) when I broadcast my heart rate. No amount of trouble shooting seems to solve this issue.

Adding the Smart Flow directly to my Epix under Sensors and Accessories then precludes the Tacx Traning app on my Android phone from being able to see speed/cadence from the Flow.

Any ideas on how to work a solution?

  • As of yesterday

What happened yesterday? Has TTA been updated to a new version? Keep installers of previous versions.

  • I can't say. I had stepped away from riding for about two weeks. Yesterday, I open the Tacx training app, connect to my Smart Flow. But when I enable the broadcast function on my Garmin Epix 2, the app doesn't see it anymore. It's not Epix because it can connect to my Concept 2 rower, still connects just fine to Garmin Connect. I even downloaded Zwift today for Android to check out if this doesn't work out, and Zwift recognizes both the Flow and Epix.

I did try installing an older version of Tacx app (v4.32.0) but that didn't seem to fix the issue.

    In this repository

version 4.32.0 is dated July 20th. Try a much earlier version.

  • I just tried as early as v4.29.4 and no change. Not sure why this is happening. At this point, I don't know if the disconnect is with the app, or something happening between the phone and watch.

EDIT: I did borrow my daughter's Windows notebook a moment ago and installed the Tacx Training app. The app was able to recognize both Epix and the Smart Flow trainer. So there's that. I tried resetting bluetooth settings on my Android phone to no avail.
