A problem Garmin must resolve

Dear Garmin community,

I joined you a few months ago with Vivoactive 6. Since then I was pairing my bluetooth headphones during my runs. But one day my headphones stopped working I bought a new pair from a different brand. After 10 mins, the music starts stuttering with the new one.

When I searched it online, I came across that this is a common problem with a lot of garmin watch models. It doesn’t matter if the earpiece is an high end model or a dollar store one, some of them work flawlessly, some of them not. It is not model or brand dependent.

TLDR, we need a solution from Garmin for the headset stuttering problem. Either they must fix this problem for good if it is software related or they must tell us the compatible headset features or model/brands.

  • As a smartwatch, in order to save battery, the Bluetooth signal isn’t as strong as in a phone or laptop. The headphones aren’t entirely blameless either, because they also save energy and have weak transmitting and receiving antennas.

Jako zegarek - poprzez oszczędzanie baterii - sygnał bt nie jest tak mocny jak w telefonie laptopie. Sluchawki także nie są bez winy, bo także oszczędzają energię i mają słabe anteny odbiorczo-nadawcze.

  • If it is not a case for a single or a few headphones then it is problem of Garmin. On the other, if the headphones can connect other devices flawlessly, this also makes the problem Garmin's. Garmin advertises the watches as they have capabilities to connect to headphones. Plus, distance between my arm and my headphones are not more than 1.5 meter.

  • Not exactly. I already wrote about this — it’s a headphones issue.

Let me use an analogy: suppose I’m speaking in a whisper and most people can still hear me, but people with hearing impairments won’t. That doesn’t mean they’re completely deaf. The problem is that most headphone manufacturers use “weak antennas.”

For example, my Denon over-ear headphones work throughout the whole house, while AirPods lose connection after just two walls. So what’s at fault here — the phone or the headphones?

  • With all due respect, your analogy is irrelevant.. If an headphone works with another brand of watch but doesn’t work with Garmins, whose fault is that? Even some high end headphones aren’t compatible with Garmin. On top of that this is not related to power of antennas.  Even if I put the headphone on top of the watch, it happens. Not for only one or few brand and models.  If the reception is poor it doesn’t stutter like this. I have enough knowledge and experience about wireless connections.
