Vibrations for alerts during workout

Hello, I've been using a forerunner 245 for the past 5 years and want to get the vivoactive 6.

I use the run/walk alert on my current watch and get count down beeps and then a vibration to let me know when to run or walk

I know that the vivoactive doesn't have a speaker so it won't beep, but do the vibrations still count you down? I like having both because I sometimes can't hear the beeps over traffic or miss the vibration because I'm on rough trail.

If the vibrations do the count down I'd be less likely to miss them if it's multiple vibrations instead of just one

Can any one confirm?

Thank you

  • The Vivoactive 6 does produce a a beeping sound as well as vibration. You can choose how you would like to be alerted for workout transitions.

  • Are you sure about that? What is the setting for this. I recently became an owner of the Vivoactive 5 and I have the same problem. My good old FR 55 en FR220 always gave me beeps when it was time to walk / run.

I compared the user manuals of the Vivoactive 5 and 6 to see what they say about this, but I could not find any reference to sounds emitted by the watch. Since the Venu 3 is a quite similar product, I did a product compare on the Garmin website. Under "built-in speaker/microphone" it only shows a "yes" for the Venu 3. I also checked the user manual of the Venu 3 to see what is different in this respect, compared to the Vivoactive 5 and 6. The Venu 3 has a setting for system sounds / tones that I don't see with the Vivoactive 5 and 6.
