Sticky heart rate

I switched from Vivoactive 4, which had an older sensor. And so far the 6 is _really_ disappointing...

It always sticks to certain bpm levels. Mostly around 60, 90, 120, 150. And it is very difficult to get it to "change gear" either high or low. It is _clearly_ wrong compared to a Polar H10 chest strap. And it is worse than the ages old Vivoactive 4. It's a joke, really.

  • I had the same issue happen, but sporadically, when during a workout i would know my heart rate is high but the watch was recording around 100bpm. quite frustrating.

  • I have tried joining the beta programme to no avail.

At this point I will return my VA6 - and wait for the Venu 4, or get an FR570 (ultimately making Garmin happy with spending more than I intended...). Or leave Garmin altogether.

  • Well, I returned the VA6, and got a discounted FR265S (I refuse to pay the price for the newer ones).

It does have the same issue to some extent (at least the lag with picking up from a lower hr - at which the old VA4 is still better), but overall much better. And generally better than the VA4 at least (except the pick up lag).

Still contemplating about trying a Suunto Race S for comparison...
