Vivoactive 5, Battery Drain & not charging 100%

I just bought the Garmin Vivoactive 5 last week, 05 Feb 2026.  The first night it was at like 72% and I charged it to 100%.  By Saturday it was down to around 15% and it took 2-3 hours to charge it to about 82%. On Monday it was back down to 19%. In 4 hours it charged to 72%, so I left it on the charger overnight. In the morning it was still at 72%.  Yesterday it was down to 22% so I charged it again, this time it charged to 100% in about 4 hours.  I wore it to bed and when I got up it was down to like 70%.  In the last 5 hours it has drained down to 39%.  I'm very disappointed by the battery life, which is the only reason I decided to stay with Garmin.  I had the Vivoactive 3 and was very happy with it, now im feeling dooped by Vivoactive 5.

  •  Thanks for reaching out! The Vivoactive 5 is designed to last up to 11 days in smartwatch mode, so this is definitely not expected behavior. I'd like you to review this FAQ to see if you can make any adjustments that will help improve the battery life. In particular, if you have any watch faces or apps downloaded from Connect IQ, I recommend removing those to see if it helps. It's also a good idea to use Garmin Express on a personal computer to ensure that your new watch is running the latest software. Instructions for using Garmin Express are also listed in that FAQ.
