Apparently, I Nap with My Eyes Open

Today, I was hard at work — fully focused, brain in high gear — when suddenly my Vivoactive 5 buzzed on my wrist and said:
“You just took a nap for about 30 minutes. ” Sleeping

Wait, what?! I was working! Flushed
Or… was I?
Maybe I unknowingly slipped into a deep meditative state?
Or perhaps Garmin just politely hinted, “You look exhausted, buddy.”

Either way, I appreciate my Vivoactive 5 caring so much about my rest and recovery. But next time, if I look slightly sluggish, please don’t declare that I’ve been napping. I’m just… focusing really, really hard Relieved

To sum it up:

Garmin is very attentive.

I was definitely awake.

(Well… at least I think so.)

Either way, time for coffee.

Sincerely,
A hardworking human who definitely wasn’t napping

  • Yeah, it's a bit hit and miss. It's probably difficult to accurately detect it 100% of the time with a wrist-based device. I've had naps detected as rest (instead of a nap) and rest detected as a nap. It would be nice if we could edit or delete it directly on the watch and if the watch can learn from this. I assume different people will have a different threshold for whatever data they used to detect a nap.
