Software version 14.15 messed up my Vivoactive 5

Hi! My Vivoactive 5 just notified me of the 14.15 update, and then it started the download process. This process took much longer than the usual updates, and when it was finished downloading and installing, it said version 13.19 (!), and everything is in English (my watch was set to Norwegian), and my custom watch face disappeared. I have tried going into the menus to change the language back to Norwegian, but English is the only option. Nothing else. I have tried running the update process manually again after this, but it still takes a long time (15'ish minutes), and everything stays in English and version 13.19.

What to do?

Does it synch to your phone and with the Garmin Connect App? If so, you can try changing the language through the app.

More > Garmin Devices > Tap on your connected device > System > Language

Hello!

Have you tried:

1) Powering the watch off and restarting it

2) Using Garmin Express to Update Your Watch's Software

if neither of those helps I would recommend Resetting All Default Settings

I tried resetting the watch, but then it got stuck in a loop with the text “English” trying to scroll off the screen, only to skip back to English. After about half an hour of this, it suddenly got stuck in another loop, with a blue circle spinning around and around. I couldn’t do anything on the watch, and the Garmin app couldn’t connect with it. But the app said “transferring update” (or something similar). After several hours of this, suddenly the text “Update 14.15” appeared on the watch screen, and it started downloading and running just like a normal update. The watch was unusable for about 5-6 hours, and suddenly it just got out of the loop, ran the update and everything was back to normal… Hopefully it’ll stay that way.
