Really hoping that the vivoactive 5 will add bouldering and indoor/outdoor climbing as a fitness activity. They are becoming more popular and I believe more people would benefit from having this option with the vivoactive 5!

I really doubt it. And you probably won't find a CIQ app either
The va5 doesn't have a baro altimeter, and I expect having that info is needed for these sports/
I wouldn’t say an baro altimeter is essential, especially for bouldering. Sure it’s useful/interesting info but not any more than it is for walking. I mostly care about it monitoring the generic stuff like heart rate. If it can record individual climbs and their grade that would be extra cool & feel like it would take similar tech to identifying sets in the gym to build that. Heck the technologies might even be there to record a fall!
I think the underlying challenge here though is there isn’t some sort of catch all “other” activity. So if there’s not something specific set up it gets really fiddly just to capture the basics that I got up and moved that day.

Can you use the Cardio activity and turn on GPS if necessary? You could make a second copy of the Cardio activity, so you'd have one for indoor activities (GPS off) and one for outdoor activities (GPS on.)
