Connection earphones stops while searching the gps

My watch connects to my earphones. I can listen to music on Spotify. But when I start an activity and it searches for the GPS signal, the connection to the earphones stops.

What is the make/model of the earphones you're using? Some models have a feature where they count steps, which can interfere with the Bluetooth connection.
