Are you using the same headphones? Maybe the problem is on the client side. The music is stored on the watch or the watch is used only to control the playback?

I had similar symptoms. Is the activity using GPS? Try wearing the watch on your opposite wrist. It might improve.

im having a similar issue with my new 255 music.
Using Sony WF-C700N headphones first few runs were perfect.
the other night it cut in and out now it wont play music at all.

Garmin support's only suggestion after tons of back and forth, testing, sending watch data logs, is to have them send me a new one through an exchange. I think this is just chalked up to a cheapo BT chip in the watch, nothing they can do. Frustrating to have them list "Listen to music during activities!" as a capability for the watch but it isn't capable of that at all.
