GPS Version 0.0.0

The GPS on the VivoActive 4S suddenly stopped working mid-run the other day and then would no longer connect no matter how long I waited for the GPS. A few times it would say "if you want to use GPS, you must restart," which I did until the message stopped appearing.

Now I see that the GPS Version is stuck at 0.0.0 so I tried syncing over and over again with Garmin Connect and Garmin Express, but there were no updates. I even deleted the files in the RemoteSW folder and allowed a fresh sync to update them. I tried power cycling the watch again (normal power down/up, soft reset, and eventually a factory reset). I even enrolled in the Beta program as a last ditch effort to move from 8.3.0 to 8.5.0 in hopes that it would fix the issue, but it hasn't and the GPS Version continues to be stuck at 0.0.0.

This is really frustrating. I know I can buy a new watch, but I have no confidence that this issue wouldn't happen again. 

Has anyone else successfully resolved this problem?
