I am unable to pair my Samsung fe airbuds with my Vivoactive 4 watch. Are the airbuds supposed to be compatible with the watch?

I have done as suggested. Updated both the watch and the airbuds and the watch still cannot pair with the airbuds. Pairs beautifully with my airpods, but not with the Samsubg airbuds.
