How can I change the setting from HEAT Tracking back to the standard Tracks.

I am using the F3b app to track my Field Hockey games. The app would always just use red tracks.

Back in August the tracking changes to HEAT maps.

i have spoken with Garmin help and they don’t know how to change the setting. Garmin has suggested I look at the lack of overlay options as being the problem. I sent the Garmin transcript to the app created. They also suggested that I send the attached you screenshots that show the map overlays in my activities using your app, and Garmin app. You can see from the pics the Garmin Map Setting has the option of a "Data Overlay", whereas the F3B app has nothing. Garmin seems to think because this information is missing, it is the reason why I cannot change back to the tracks.

i have since been in contact with the app creator and he suggested that I ask the question on here as there might be some super smart Garmin tech people here who can help me.

  • So frustrating! I hope others write in to suggest a change. If you want to be lazy here is what I sent!! If only whoever came up with the idea understood the rules of substitutions is so different  in hockey to other team sports like football and rugby that are using the heat map option!

Change the hockey option on Garmin watches from heat maps to the spider trail. Whoever designed this clearly doesn’t play field hockey. The heat map is completely incompatible with this sport because it is played with rolling substitutes. Therefore the heat map is always misleading as it is dominated by the player being off the field in the substitution area. Hockey players sub on and off every 4-7mins therefore the heat map always shows you off the pitch because you spend more time in this area on average than an other area of the pitch. It is such a shame that hockey is available as an option but the lack of understanding of hockey rules means the function is largely useless!
