This step Fixed my charging issue.

My Garmin wouldn’t charged, I resolved it by holding the top button, connecting my charging cable and kept the top button held for 30 secs. I felt the watch buzz as it should and it started fully charging. Very happy.

The watch wasn't charging as in "it wouldn't detect the fact that the cable was connected"?

Absolutely Correct. And I knew there was no issue with the cable as it charged my husband's Garmin no problem.
