Vivoactive 4 will not connect to wifi

Has anyone ever been able to resolve this?  I have done a hard reset and even set up a guest wifi and the watch is unable to detect any of them. It worked absolutely fine until a few weeks ago.

  • if you set up parental control on the router side it will fail. Ask me how I know...

  • Unfortunately, didn't have them set up

  • this is what I've found and the first bullet helped me solve the issue:

    • If parental controls are enabled for the Wi-Fi network, the watch may display "No internet connection" when attempting to connect. You will need to remove parental controls to fully connect the watch to that Wi-Fi network.

    • Wi-Fi networks that require you to log in on a browser screen, also known as captive portal, are not compatible with Garmin watches. You will need to use a different Wi-Fi network to connect with the watch.

Also, note that Garmin Vivoactive 4 only recognizes legacy Wi-Fi protocols, that is 2.4 Ghz b/g/n, not newer ag (Wi-Fi 6 standard)

  • The error I keep getting is “WiFi failed to scan”
