Garmin Vivoactive 4 Turns Off with I start activity

Hi,

Recently, I'm having a very furstrating time with my Vivoactive 4 turning off when I start an activity. Sometimes it switches off on the first attempt to start an activity, other times the activity can be started and it turns off during a walk, run, etc.

I've lost confidence in using the watch now and want to know what my options are?

I have auto-updates ON so I believe all of the software is up to date.

  • It turns out your battery is toast, as it happened to a lot of people especially after updating to 8.30. Some people have had success asking Garmin for a replacement, even after warranty expired, which means Garmin knows about the issue and quietly tries to solve this. Depending on your country and how old you're watch is, your mileage may vary. It's worth a try, though.

  • Hi Monk,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, that's exactly right. I spoke directly with support and they gave me a few software updates to try, but in the end nothing fixed it. Thankfully, even although it's 4 years old, Garmin have organised a replacement :)

    • Glad you solved it. May I ask if you had to pay anything for the replacement and which country are you from? Thanks in advance.
  • No, they said the unit was still in warranty so I got a free replacement. I'm in the UK
