UK Earbuds that work properly with Vivoactive 4?

There are old posts referring to this but I've found nothing recent and Garmin support can't/won't advise on compatibility. Anyone using earbuds where all the controls actually work, particularly volume control which doesn't work on my JBL TuneBeam earbuds. I have Bose headphones that do work but they're no good for exercise as they get too hot.

Thanks in anticipation

  • In case you haven't seen this support page regarding compatibility - Bluetooth Headphone Compatibility for Garmin Music Watches | vívoactive® 4 | Garmin Support

Nothing specific regarding which headphones they recommend, although this used to be available.

Which Bose model are you using? Personally, I've used a variety of cheap and expensive headphones over the years. Jabra brand seems to work the best with Garmin watches.

  • Thanks, as you say, they no longer give compatibility details. But the info you pointed me to about Garmin Express was very helpful. I thought updates happened automatically over wifi but it turns out they don't and I didn't have the latest software on my watch. Once I'd updated everything, the earbuds worked.

Good tip about Jabra - Amazon are currently selling the Vivoactive 5 and Jabra Elite 4 earbuds as a bundle from the Garmin store so are prepared to endorse that make.

I have Bose Soundlink headphones and they work too.

    So all good now

    Thanks

  • I use Jabra Elite 8 Active and they are perfect. IP68 certified too, so you can wash them under the faucet after each exercise session.
