Vivoactive 4 kept freezing and dying, now won’t connect after reset

My watch updated to a new version (assuming latest) and since then the touch has been randomly freezing and being non responsive. The only way around this was to force power down or plug into a charger (the moment it was plugged in it would become responsive again). This would happen multiple times throughout the day. Time, step tracking and hr monitoring still worked. It also would still sync with the Garmin app

Anyway, in trying to troubleshoot it, I did a reset on the device. However Garmin connect will not sync / find it. It is successfully connected to my phone via Bluetooth. I have restarted both my watch, the app, the phone but no luck

Any thoughts on a solution?

  • Never mind, weirdest workaround I’ve ever seen. Garmin Connect said device wasn’t connected and couldn’t be found or sync’d but in the app, I tap device, scrolled down to Find My Device, tapped it, and my watch started buzzing and then App & Phone connected. Working fine now

    TBD about the freezing touch issue though
