Software version 8.30

My VA4 just updated a couple of hours ago to sw 8.30.

Any change log, is it beta, final version?

There's no info anywhere, not in this forum, nor in the beta program section.

Note: I am enrolled in the beta testing program.

    I beg to disagree. Having so many batteries die suddenly after consistently providing days of stamina is highly unusual. Also, keep in mind that Garmin never disputed those claims, which is a clear sign that it knows more than it admits.

    Same for me, i made a hard reset, try the beta program (8.50). try update with Garmin Express... The VA4 still shut down when I launch an activity, when it tries to connect wifi and the HR doesn't work anymore. No answer from de Garmin support.

    Of course not. There is nothing reasonable they can say, since their update (which they are not disclosing any information about) killed the watch.

    Answer from Garmin : 160€ / 1 one garantee (don't know if its legal, it's 2 years in France). Is it a new watch, reconditionned one, which color? very disappointed by Garmin

    I found another issues. Which not working yet on VA4 with soft ver. 8.30 . I can't confirm notifications, or send simple answers to delivered (sms, messenger) messages. They working well before.

    I was thinking this is a serious brand. The watch is almost useless since update to 8.x version. Are you joking that you don't fix the reported problems? Everything was ok before the update. Don't buy this brand, if they think you should buy a new watch, they update the software and bye-bye. No battery life, intermittent connection to phone, intermittent power off, etc.

    How does one contact Garmin support? 

    I also have this problem, and I am trying to downgrade firmware. I do not want to move to a newer model yet - this is one of the last models with MIP display, not OLED, which I do not like

    Since 2  months I have the same problem. Before the software actualization I had 8-9 days of battery duration, afterwards only one day. 

    I sent an email to the customer service and they offered me the replacement of my watch for "only" 140€. Incredible.

    Bye bye Garmin.
