Can you turn off discard function?

I’ve lost several runs due to the automatic discard function on my watch. The absolute last feature I want on my watch. Is there a way to disable it?

Today, I pressed the tick button at the end of my trip, My finger went no where near the discard button but it ended up on the discard screen and discarded my run. There should at least be a "trash bin" where you can get your trip from.

If you walk past a bit of metal and hit the watch on the metal, it'll press on it like it's your finger.

It's been a problem for years...
