Resting Heart Rate Average

Ive been using Garmin watches for many years. My most recent watch is a VivoActive 4S. Prior to that I had the VivoSmart HR plus. So not the super high end, but a focus on heart rate monitoring and a built in GPS.

I need to be monitoring my HR more closely right now and was hoping my watch would tell me what my average heart rate at rest is. I assumed that’s what it was calculating - my AVERAGE RESTING heart rate. But it’s actually not - Garmin uses the LOWEST average heart rate during a 30 minute period. This is wildly innacurate as an average RHR and I’m disappointed.

I need to see what my actual heart rate average is when I’m at rest in order to compare pre and post medication.  basically I want to know what my true average is now and then again in a few weeks once I’ve been on an increased dose of medication.

anyone know how to get the watch to do this??

thanks
