Randomly Shuts down, but will start up when I notice

I have had my watch for a couple years, I bought it from a garmin reviewer who had it in a drawer for a while.  So if I don't happen to look at my wrist before going to bed I lose track of my resting heart rate, body battery, etc.

Another annoyance is that typically when I do turn it back on the body battery jumps from where it was trending. I have no idea which is "right".

I'm in the market for a new device, but between the random turning off, and losing confidence in the calculated metrics that I have been using to track my overall wellness, I'm wondering if Garmin is still the best game in town.

I have used garmin almost exclusively for lifestyle fitness (and exclusively for sports training with a forerunner 410). I had the original fitbit which came which is the only time I was non-garmin.

So, is this systemic, or just something wrong with my watch?

If you've had this problem, or something similar I would like to know, especially if you figured out a way to fix it.
