Vivoactive 4s counting steps from arm movement

I got a new Vivoactive 4s. Ive owned the Vivosmart HR+ models for many many years without this issue.  


the step counter is very sensitive, counting simple arm movements as steps. It’s therefore wildly inaccurate. How do I remedy this issue?
