VA4S not charging

Why doesn't my VA4S charge any longer?  Until maybe 2 months ago, I could set it on the charger when I got up, and by the time I had finished a cup of coffee, it was at 100 percent.  Around one month ago, I decided to try the Pulse Ox recording during sleep.  Both Pulse Ox and sleep tracking now both work (sleep tracking has never failed to work on this VA4s).  But no matter how I connect the watch, it refuses to charge now.  I've tried a house current USB port, as well as Garmin Express on both a Windows 10Pro and Windows 11Pro connection.  I tried gently cleaning the connectors with Isopropyl Alcohol on a cotton swab, with no change.  If I disconnect and then continually re-connect the watch, sometimes the charge goes up ?!?

  • I'd suggest disabling Pulse Ox, as it will drain your battery quickly. If you want to check it, just do it manually. If you can get a hold of another charging cable, to at least eliminate the cable as being faulty.

  • Seems like disabling Pulse Ox worked.  Although I'm still noticing that if I disconnect the watch from the charger and then reconnect, the charge level gets reported higher IMMEDIATELY.  Like the charge percentage reporting doesn't update while charging is happening.  Not a big deal though, so long as I'm not seeing a constant "35%" any more!  Thanks
