Hi folks,
I've recently started Jeff Galloway's plan in Garmin Coach on my Vivoactive 4S, and I'm having a few issues.
1) This week is the second week of the plan, and today's activity was "Run-Walk-Run". For each of the other activities "Cadence Drills", "Gliding" etc. there was a video clip in Garmin Connect (Android) explaining what was expected, and how to complete the task. But for this one there was nothing, no explanation of what I was aiming for, no video, and I had to make it up. This seems very odd given there was a "TM" after the title for trademark, suggesting this is going to be an integral part of training.
Question: Did anybody else choose this plan and get an explanation before the activity was scheduled? Garmin Connect has all my data from the "Benchmark Run" so I would have expected this to have been fed in and intervals calculated for how long I was to run and walk - pretty bizarre.
For Garmin support; what's going on with the lack of information for this activity? Legal issues or something? Maybe better just to pull Jeff's plan entirely if so?
2) During the "Run-Walk-Run" training, there was no countdown for my intervals, perhaps due to the 1st point. I hit the 'Lap' button but this skipped on to the '10min Cooldown' and I had to start over again.
For Garmin support; surely this should be programmed into this activity?
3) So I had to switch to another generic running screen showing distance and time, and count up 2mins, walk 30secs and repeat - which is a little tricky when you're on the run! Run til 2mins, walk til 2m 30secs, so jog til 4min 30secs, walk til 5..... its a bit of a mess.
What compounded that was, as I was counting up on this activity, Garmin announced my 'Lap' time (every 1km) and reset the clock, at say 6mins 23secs. This really messed up trying to count up my intervals.
Again for Garmin support; if there aren't intervals built into the Run-Walk-Run activity, maybe the automatic 1km laps should be disabled during it?
It's really frustrating committing to a plan only to find out it's incomplete!
