Counting steps during walks with a babytrolley

Hi,

During walks with a pram I have a problem with counting steps.

I cover the same distance, with the same step, pace and when I hold the cart with two hands, it calculates my step between 1 meter and 1.12 meters. While I drive it with one hand (and the hand with the watch is free), it converts my correct step to 0.8 meters.

Does anyone have helpful tips on how to get the correct step reading while the activity is on, when driving the baby trolley with two hands?

If I want to earn steps while mowing the lawn, I remove the watch from my wrist and place it my pants/shorts pocket. That way the accelerometer can detect some walking-like movement.
