I've recently noticed that my "current pace" during runs will consistently be 2+ minutes slower per mile than my actual pace. My watch will show that I am running at 11-13 minute per mile for most of my run, but the average pace displayed both during the run & in the app after is closer to 9:30 per mile. I've become very familiar with the 9:30 pace as it's generally my training pace for long runs, so I know this is accurate.
Why does the watch display my current pace so inaccurately? This is especially challenging while doing workouts from the Garmin training plan (Coach Greg) when my watch is telling me I'm at the wrong pace for most of the workout. I've started to only look at the average pace or lap pace instead of the target pace gauge, but this doesn't work for interval runs. It does the same thing during runs outside of the training plan runs as well.
