My recorded activities are for some reason logged to 31 Dec 89. Al the details also seams like are lost. The time and date on my watch is correct.

Are these activities uploading to Garmin Connect without errors?

Some data erroneously being reported by the activity (.fit) files on your watch. Can you download one of those activities from Garmin Connect Web and attach it here. This might reveal what the actual problem is before you factory reset the watch.

On your computer go to https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activities
Open one of the activities by clicking on the title.
Click the gear icon (top right) then "Export Original."
Attach the downloaded zip file to this thread.
In a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
Or upload the file to a reputable file sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.

The vivoactive 4 is not a USB storage device, but rather an MTP device, so retrieving files from the device is more problematic.

The activities do not transfer to the app on my phone.

I find them on my watch under last Previous Weeks /2 Apr - 8Apr / Saturday 15:34
But when I open the activitu on the watch it reads 31 Dec 89 02:00 and every Value like distance time and speed is 0.
