After upgrading to 7.80, my vivoactive 4 has issues acquiring GPS fix. Even a full reset of the watch didn’t resolve the issue.
Anyone else familiar with this issue? Any suggestions to overcome this problem?

I think mine connects faster since upgraded to 7.80 fw.
Try going outside where is clear(no trees or anything like that), try acquiring GPS and leave it a little longer, even after it acquired it. Don't have to start the workout.
Next time it might be quicker.
En mi relog VA 4S ha mejorado bastante la conectividad del GPS con la última actualización, ahora tarda menos de 1' en ponerse verde.
Además también ha mejorado la duración de la batería.
Saludos.
In my VA 4S watch, GPS connectivity has improved a lot with the latest update, now it takes less than 1 minute to turn green.
In addition, the battery life has also improved.
Greetings.
Hello all,
I got a vivoactive 4 last week ! VERY satisfied !
I've tested the gps signal, and it works fine. Also automatic beacon from Strava to my SOS number.
Happy and safe 2023 to all !
After some googling and trial and error it seems that the issue is related to the EPO file (preloaded GPS positions). By connecting the watch to my PC and deleting all files in the RemoteSW folder, then adding an up to date file from https://www.javawa.nl/epo_en.html.
This gives a temporary fix but the next day (after syncing) it seems to go out of date again.
Friends of mine had similar issues recently with their VA4, which resolved itself over time. Maybe its specific to some countries?
My wife received a vivoactive 4s as Christmas present. During setup&configuration it upgraded to firmware 7.80 and it is unable to get a GPS fix at all, even after waiting for 30min.
I found a CPE.bin with a current timestamp in the /Garmin/RemoteSW folder - I assume that should be fine and no EPO.bin would be required. (According to https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=6IbaJEHc1i9gydzQomXzyA those seem to be similar)
According to the changelog (https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/healthandwellness/f/vivoactive-4-series/316375/vivoactive-4-4s-software-update---7-80) there were several GPS-related changes in firmware 7.80 which might have introduced new problems.
Garmin-Zac could you please look into this?

Thank you for your suggestion StephanKistner, but it looks like that unfortunately won't always work.
