Vivoactive 4 not syncing Bluetooth anymore, unless I re-pair it all over again

Vivoactive 4 sometimes completely stops syncing to my phone. I don't know if it even tries. Phone's Bluetooth shouldn't have any issues, as my Bluetooth earbuds work perfectly fine for hours on end and my car's radio can connect fine.

The only way to sort of connect it is if I 'forget' the device in Garmin connect and then pair it as new, which worked for 4 days before it lost connection again. I have had this issue previously and I solved it for some months by factory resetting the device, uninstalling Garmin connect and pairing the device as a new device, but I don't want to go through that again, especially with how it only worked for about 2 months before breaking again.

What I want to know, is there some easy way to solve this, like a dumbass setting somewhere or by doing something, or should I go to the shop I bought this from and use the warranty to get a replacement? The device is only 4 months old so I really don't want to deal with this kind of reappearing issue for all its life.
