GPS inaccuracies

My GPS is incredibly inaccurate (as it shows on its drawn map from my routes, showing me running through buildings and taking huge short cuts), telling me I run significantly less than I am doing, I have tried several different online suggestions from changing which GPS services to use for my watch, to recalibrating, to deleting my CPE information to get it to reset, but yet it still remains inaccurate. I have only had my watch for 3 months so it isn't from user fault from wear-and-tear etc. The inaccuracies only started after the last updated, however I'm told that it isn't to do with the update itself just my CPE files needed to be reset, so how come doing so made no difference? And this was as it was assumed that my CPE files said "expired", however they have always said "current" and I sync with Garmin Express every day (a method quoted online for fixing CPE file problems). Do I need to take my watch into a store for fixing? If so this is very frustrating for the amount of money I spent on this watch and the lack of time I've had it.
