Vivoactive 4S screen freezing and draining the battery

My Vivoactive 4S is 1 year and 8 months old. Yesterday (22/08/2022), it was working normally in the morning (with a full charge), and then the screen froze, and the battery drained to 0% in about 30 minutes. After charging it today, same problem, repeatedly. Everytime I charge it back up (and hard reset it), it will work fine for 10 minutes (no noticeable drain of battery in that time, it remains on 100%) and then freeze and drain.

I thought this was a battery issue, but when it does not freeze it seems to be losing charge at a normal rate. 

I have tried to update the software (using 6.90 according to the watch, my phone and Garmin Express) but there are no available updates (even though 7.10 and 7.20 have been released a few days ago).

Any ideas on what to do? Is the watch just too old? Everything is working fine when it doesn't freeze tho.
