Software Version 7.20 Feedback

Yesterday we released software version 7.20 as a Public Beta to address some of the usability issues we were seeing after the 7.10 update. We are hoping to get feedback from any customers that are enrolled in the Public Beta and installed 7.20. If you installed 7.20, are you seeing improvements in the area of devices staying connected to the app and syncing, activities saving, and/or Connect IQ watch faces no longer deleting from devices? Post any feedback in this thread.

I think. I feel. Battery drain on my vivoactive 4 after update to ver. 7.20.

In my opinion also the battery drains faster too. I have noticed that turning off the oximeter slows the drain significantly.

My Vivoactive 4’s touchscreen has been unresponsive since it updated about a month ago - rendering the watch almost useless. It updated again today and worked briefly until I started a workout, when it became unresponsive again. NOT HAPPY. If this continues I will never buy another Garmin product. This is incredibly poor performance from Garmin: so fix it!

Reach out to customer service. If known issue and not your fault, the warranty is at least 2 years and they will replace it like they did mine.

I faced quicker discharging on 7.20 firmware in compare with 7.10 with same usage.

After the update to 7.20, the battery is completely empty after 10 hours. The watch is no longer usable

It is not specific to the 7.20 version. That is reported from several customers after every software update.

I have not installed any other software on the watch and my watch is reset to factory settings.

I've been through a number of updates, but I hate that they're forced. This version is particular seems to have knocked about 25% from my battery life. Lost about a day of battery, from 4 days to less than 3 days. Others are obviously having the same issue.

Garmin needs to get significantly better at QA software testing. I had a previous update knock my battery down to about 1 day, which was later fixed.

Any workaround to disable automatic firmware updates?

No solution found yet :| And another update has been released for my watch few days ago... :/
