Vivoactive 4s charging issues

Hello to all and greetings from Croatia!

So, my dear wife bought me this watch few days ago as a present, and I've been using it for 7 days now.

It was running great until today. Okay, yes I have experienced the disappearing watch faces (Crystal) all of a sudden with the latest update, but I have no problem with restarting the watch to get it going again. Or not recording my sleep (I can live without it)...

BUT...

I have charging problems since this morning. Mayor problems.

The watch doesn't charge as it used to. I have already tried cleaning both charging ports on the watch and the cable. Nothing.
It charges for 1% every time I plug the cable in then stops. The charging icon with the percentage is present but it doesn't move any more than 1% as mentioned before. This means I should plug it in for 91 times to get it fully charged. Pointless and unhealthy.

Also, the charging cable reacts on one side only, you turn it and you have no reaction from the watch.

Yes, I have tried holding the power button for 12 and 30 seconds and then connecting the watch to the USB port on my laptop (I am doing this as I write)... Nothing.
It successfully connects to the PC and Garmin Express, which means that the data connection works, but charging doesn't.

The pins in the cable look right and in line.

Any suggestions?

  • I thought I'd post an update on the situation... The watch isn't charging anymore (at all). 

    What is even funnier is that my charger is discharging the battery. Yes, the battery percentage drops faster when it's being plugged in for charging than when I'm wearing it.

    It can not be charged.

    I called the shop and arranged to return the watch. I may be changing it for Venue 2.

    Shame, I had it for only seven days.
