Software Update Problems Vivoactive4

Update last night caused watch faces disappear.  Can't add any new ones because I keep getting error message saying not enough memory/space to add.  

Also went for a 3 mile hike today and the watch recorded the distance as 0.0. 

Will garmin fix the issue.  

  • I went on a 7.5Km walk today after doing the software update yesterday. Started a walk activity with GPS. Watch recorded 0.0km, but recorded accurate pace, and Live Track on the website showed a map of my whole route, just 0km distance 

  • I have now got the GPS distance recording working. I plugged my watch into the computer to connect to Garmin Express which said I needed to install six updates, which I did. After the updates, the watch face was changed as were the installed widgets, but I was able to put them back to how I like them via the watch and the Garmin connect app on my phone. 
    just did a test walk with GPS and distance is now being recorded. Seems the update i I did last night on the watch didn’t work properly.

  • I always plug my watch into Express after an update, maybe that's why I did not have a problem with the GPS tracking. Everything worked on a Walk and Cycling outdoors. Might be a habit we need to get into since Garmin does not tell us what was really changed in an update. Their description of "problems fixed" is just fluff.

    Garmin is aware of an issue impacting vivoactive 4, 4S, and Venu watches. We have identified the issue and have released an update as a Public Beta. To update your watch walk through the following: 

    1. Power your watch off and back on.
    2. Enroll in the Public Beta in Garmin Connect.
      1. Use FAQ: https://support.garmin.com/?faq=bVo5U5BV292BSr2gkZhY2A for instructions.
    3. Sync with Garmin Express.

    After you enroll and sync your watch, BETA software version 7.20 will be installed and you should no longer experience the issue of your watch no longer syncing, Connect IQ watch faces no longer displaying, or activities no longer saving. 

    We expect this software version to go to production in the next couple of days.
