Recent battery drain out of nowhere

About 1 month ago my watch shut off. I know it had about 75% battery left so I was very confused. I changed it up and the battery read 100%. It would literally not even last an hour and I could not connect to my phone. I started  trouble shooting. I reset to default settings. Turned all extras off. No back light, no WiFi, no heart rate etc. Deleted any customized watch faces. Checked for updates. Seems all current. Able to connect to phone now. It would still only last barely and hour. I gave up for a couple of weeks and then tried again. Reset to default factory setting again. Deleted all data. Turned everything off.It seemed to help a little. I can get it to last for almost 3 hours with no activity tracking. My watch is a couple years old. It use to last a weekish and that was when I was running everyday. S/N 3342406132. Any advice or solutions? Or do I have to buy another watch. My last Garmin VivoActive lasted almost 5 years before I lost it at the bottom of the river. Really feel it should last longer than a couple of years…..

  • Have you tried letting it charge a few hours extra when it is reading 100 percent?

  • Are you sure it's battery drain out and not this issue here that everyone is going crazy for the last couple weeks about but Garmin does not seem to care even a little?

  • I'm getting this also. No changes, been draining within a matter of hours since Sunday pm.

  • I have… I have let it charge for a couple of days! Still nothing!

  • I have the same problem with battery drain! It started like a week ago, out of nowhere. Now the battery doesn't even last 24hrs, before it lasted 3-5 days. I also noticed, that my watch stopped counting steps and monitoring heart rate. It also counts floors climbed wrong. My watch is a little over 2 years old, so its not under warranty anymore..

  • I agree with the others on this.  My watch is maybe lasting a day.  Nothing has changed in months.  I do remember not long ago my watch did install an update and restarted.  I guess the big question is now do I go back to a different build of the watch OS?

  • I really wish that Garmin would do something about this!! It is very frustrating. If I have to buy a new watch then let me know. If it is because of an update then let me know. Been an avid Garmin user for years but this battery thing has me rethinking it!!

  • Exactly same thing, I charged my watch 100% next day shut down out of the blue, charged for hours, opened it and the battery last less than 12-14 hours, before that lasted easily 3-5 days depending the use. Nothing changed in terms of parameters in between…

  • Having the exact same problem. Screen goes black once it reaches the 70-range in battery. Charged the battery to 100% and it works fine until it reaches the 70-range and the whole cycle restarts. It's extremely frustrating.
