What is a usual life expectancy of Vivoactive watches?

Hi, I have the watch for 2.5 years, today the HR sensor stopped working - reset didn't help. I am afraid it's the end. I wonder what is a usual longevity of these watches as this seems to be very short life. I'd had Fitbit Charge 2 before and those are still functioning, my sister have been usig them after me and they are about 5 years old.

  • Even when handling the watch very carefully, the battery will wear out after a certain amount of load cycles. And it's not replaceble. My VA4 is 2,5 years old and works pretty fine, but since a few weeks the battery only lasts about 1-2 days and this is possibly getting worse in the next months.

  • There are recent reports on the forum about replacing the battery, so it is probably possible.

  • My Vivoactive 4s is not even 2.5 years old (purchased brand new) and a problem just started where the battery drains to zero within 1 hour. Have tried factory reset, and same thing happens. Having a watch that costs hundreds of dollars not even last 3 years is a joke. A 1 year warranty for something this expensive is not long enough imho.

  • My VA4 is 3,5 years old, battery lasts about 3-4 days (after charging, it discharges quickly at first)

  • hi my watch also behaves like yours. I have always charged it with a USB wall socket (not UL certified).
How do you charge it ?

  • I usually charge via PC

  • Mine also is now useless after a little more than 2 years. The battery won't hold a charge, and drains within a couple of hours. I've followed all the advice - I've updated the software, and tried resetting (soft and hard factory reset) the watch multiple times. I've charged it fully repeatedly, and cleaned the charging contacts.

Since I'm out of the 1 year warranty window, they offered to replace it for $98 (US) which seems steep given the short lifespan of the watch :(

  • Update, garmin did replace my watch with a refurbished model so I am happy with their response. I see others have had varying levels of success with getting theirs replaced, but I have also been a loyal garmin customer for many years so that may have played a role. I think this is maybe the 6th or 7th device I've bought over the years (at least 3 different cycling computers and 3 watches).

  • My vivosmart hr lasted 6 years and just recently the display stopped working on low temperature. I still love it. Wonder if it is possible to fix it.

  • My watch is 1 year 9 months old and the battery drains completely in 4-6 hours. The support says that I have to pay half of the price of the watch for a replacement.
