Cannot setup Vivoactive 4

When I unpackaged my watch and turned it on with "button A", it came up to a screen with "SW Ver 6.50" at the top with other information like ESN. It just sits there and with nothing else. I then thought I just needed to hold down "botton A" a couple of seconds, which brought up the shortcut screen. Of course there are no shortcuts defined other than the power icon at the top. So the only thing I can do with my new watch is to turn it on, look at the information about the watch, and eventually get to a place where I can turn it off. What do I need to do to get past this?

I'm not sure if it helps... Or even if it works on VA4 (probably yes)... Try

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately it didn't work. After powering off, I hold both buttons down as the instructions say, and the Garmin logo comes on right away, but very dim/faint. I release the top button, and nothing ever happens. After I wait a couple of minutes I release the bottom button and it comes back to this same screen. I think I need to package it up and return.

You can try to ask for help Garmin support support.garmin.com/.../ (by the chat for example) before you return the watch.
