Vivoactive 4s battery drain in 90 minutes

Vivoactive 4s is draining from 100% to flat in approx 90 mins. Watch is 2 years old and was lasting for 2 days under normal usage upto last week now it just keeps crashing out. Can't even now complete a 60 min run with GPS enabled. Have restarted watch, no good. Then tried factory reset, again no improvement. Please advise.

  • mines the same, full charge and only collects about 9 miles of data before battery goes to about 20% and saves the workout and then lasts about 30 minutes and dies

can you change the batteries in them?

  • Happened to me after last update.
I turned off Bluetooth to phone and went from 1 day to 3+ days on a charge, so I know the battery itseft is good.
I don't really need the weather widget on watch, so no loss.
I usually WiFi sync during the day, after activities and only enable BT for a short time in the evening, to keep the time, etc up-to--date.

I'm waiting to see if it's fixed in the new upcoming update, or if something else gets broken to add to the misery.

  • mines just done an update this afternoon, we will see....

  • I had similar issues like you with my Vivoactive 4 draining in less than 24h, even when I used Garmin watch faces like Titanium. The issue was fixed for me by using a very simple watch face (totallysimple by mr3ska) .

  • This suddenly started happening to me after having recently taken an update. Watch would last 4+ days, and it would suddenly go dead overnight, or within a few hours during the day. Once, I got it to stick in the 90%-range for about 12 hours with a default watch face, but suddenly it dipped to 60% then 20%. Tried the factory reset, didn't add apps or anything to the watch, and it still didn't help. I'm going to try leaving it disconnected from the phone to see what happens.

  • Did anyone find a solution? I have done all the suggested things in forum threads and my VA4s is draining in a few hours!
