I originally thought that the built-in "heart rate alarm" feature of this watch would set off an alarm at the exact moment your heart rate goes over a certain number, but upon reading the instructions, apparently this is NOT the case. The manual says: "When enabled, the device will trigger an alert if an abnormally high heart rate is detected after you've been inactive for 10 minutes or longer."
However, this is useless to me! When I'm doing activities like mountain biking, trail running, hiking, etc. I need my watch to set off an alert immediately when my HR goes over a certain number so that I can slow myself down or take break to slow down my heart. I have a heart condition that causes episodes of SVT (supraventricular tachycardia - which is a rapid and erratic heart beat), during intense activity so I'd like to be able to stop it before it happens by having an alarm go off every time I hit a certain BPM.
I've tried setting/adding the HR alert during various different activities and have seen the number on my watch go up above the BMP I've set multiple times, but no alarm goes off.
Does anyone know of a way to do this? Or is there an app I can add that runs in the background that will vibrate or make a sound when my HR gets too high?
