Can we have stop and resume later like all the other watch models?

My Instinct, Fenix 6 and Edge 530 all have the ability to stop an activity and resume later, but the V4 and V4S don’t.

This is a royal PITA when on a bike ride where you stop for lunch, for example. To keep a continuous ride, it’ll need to keep tracking, which can lead to excess battery drain and poor data.

Please, please please can we have that ability? And don’t start talking about Auto Pause, it isn’t the same thing!

  • Have you tried to use a bicycling activity logger from the IQ store? I think they behave differently.

  • I haven’t had positive experiences of using 3rd party apps; besides this applies to pretty much all activities.

There’s no reason why this couldn’t be implemented on all apps.

  • This has been a topic ever since the VA4 came out, so far the answer is NO. I don't see it ever happening on this watch.

  • It's really a pity... Even Huiwei or Xiaomi smartwatches have this feature. It is just business decision to not support easy quality of life improvement in watches below 500$ :/

  • My Forerunner 255 has it, and it cost significantly less than 500 dollars. A nice upgrade from the VA4.

  • They are two different watches, for different uses.
With the Vivo4 you also play Golf and can do other sports. Furthermore, the Vivo4 has an excellent Touch screen like the new FR265.

The upgrade model for the Vivo 4 would be the Venu 2 Plus

  • I went from the VA4S to the FR255M, and it was a very natural upgrade for me. The Venu series and FR265 are not proper sport watches in my opinion, with their power consuming displays that are not designed to be always on. I only miss the touch screen when writing my PIN code to use Garmin Pay, but that is just 5 seconds lost. Otherwise the buttons work just as well, or better. I was never interested in Golf, but the variety of sports on the FR255 seems slightly larger than on the VA4S. And it supports courses, running dynamics, resume, better sleep tracking, lactate threshold, heart rate variability, recovery time and so on. The battery lasts longer between charges as well. Basically a VA4 with more features, for a bit higher cost.
