Does everyone elses heart rate fluctuate every second on the Vivoactive 4?

The heart rate constantly changes as I'm looking at it, even while not moving at all. Sometimes it changes by as much as 10 BPM within a few seconds. Is this normal?

My old Vivoactive 3 would show the heart rate and hardly change...

    In reality, the heart rate is constantly fluctuating. This is called heart rate variability. It is interesting to measure how much it variates, as that is an indicator for things like fitness and stress. The optical wrist sensor technology is however not really good enough to measure this, and much of the variation you see is measurement noise. Some watches are filtering out this noise, making them less sensitive.
