Amazon Music reinstall problems

So after getting a replacement VA4 from Garmin a month ago due to a frozen watch, (yes the watch died after 1 month) I now have a problem on my new one. Everything had been working great but while updating the “Podcast” app a few minutes ago, the watch went to blue triangle, then restarted. After the restart everything seems fine but both my Amazon Music app and Podcast app have disappeared off the watch. Ok. So I’ll reinstall them. Nope. They will not reinstall. I’ve tried from Connect IQ and also from Garmin connect but no luck. They go through the motions of installing but after a few minutes they just stop and show “Install” button again. I am sooooo frustrated with this watch. I left Fitbit because of faulty watches but this experience with my VA4 has been far worse. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

UPDATE: I just solved it using Garmin Express. Weird thing is once I connected to Express and downloaded both Amazon Music and Podcasts everything was there. All my downloaded music and all my podcasts. Weird. Almost like it wasn’t really deleted off the watch after all but that the apps were “hidden” and not accessible. Again I’m frustrated by the fiddliness of the VA4 but glad it’s working again.

  • Just for clarification (because I missed this too) after my watch completed the new update, plug your watch into your computer/laptop that you have the Garmin Express app on then update from there as well with watch plugged in. You will have to go back through and uninstall and re download Amazon Music (like you initially) did through Connect IQ (getting the code from your watch to go on Amazon.com/us/code and attach the device). It will say an error code that this device is already attached but go back to your watch and redownload your playlists on your watch. It takes a while but this fixed it for me as well!
