vivoactive 4s and speed cadence sensors

I bought my spouse a vivoactive 4s; I have paired the speed and cadence sensors (garmin brand) - they are solid (not blinking) when I click into the indoor bike app; i have speed and cadence data fields but they have no data in the feilds - just ----

Sensors must be paired in the settings-senors.

Sensors must be "woken up" to record in the indoor bike app. It usually takes me a couple of revolutions before they become active. You should see them flash green when they are ready then see numbers in the app data fields.
