¿Did I just have spent USD 300.- on a watch that makes no sound?
Alarms only vibrate, notifications only vibrate.
Is it possible that a watch that is worth USD 300.- makes no sound?
Please someone tell me I am mistaken.
Thanks.
Marcelo

So you paid 300 USD and DID NOT check the specs or check what the watch even did before you bought it?
Sorry, that's just poor decision making on your part.
You're making the big mistake to think your needs are other people needs.
I dont need or want an beep on my watch, i prefer vibration. And i dont want fking bluetooth in my car...
There are many different…
Dude, calm down. Most people do not want watches that make noises, so don't assume that whatever *you* want is the norm.
But that being said, it's partially your fault for not even checking the specs…
It's like spending USD 100000.- in a car without Bluetooth.
Garmin should put in big letters in the advertisement 'no sound on this watch'. Then you buy without the feeling you have been deceived.
Let's see how many watches they miss to sell in an USD 300.- watch without sound.
Garmin loves market segmentation - that’s why they have literally dozens of different watches.
The seemingly senseless omission of a basic feature from the Vivoactive line is intended to push you to buy a more expensive Forerunner watch if you want sound. But then if you buy a Forerunner 245 Music (prolly the most popular current Forerunner), you don’t get a baro (for floor counting and more accurate elevation during runs), which the Vivoactive happens to have. So you pay more to get sound and running features, but you lose the baro even though you “upgraded”.
Then of course you could spend more to get a more expensive Forerunner which has both sound and a baro.
I mean we all hate this stuff but it seems to work pretty well for Garmin. I guess time will tell if this works as a long-term strategy.
