Touch screen won't easily tap on

In recent weeks, my Vivioactive 4 won't easily activate the backlight when I tap on the screen.

Sometimes I have to tap it 2 or three times or hit it harder than was normal in the past.

This seems to have started after a recent update.

Any ideas how to fix this?

It has been noticed by many users. It is probably changed by design to not light up so easily by mistake. Now you have to be slightly more firm and decisive than before when tapping. It works well when you get used to it.

But for me, this represents a change. I've had my Vivoactive 4 since Feb. of 2020 and it's only in the last month or two that I've noticed this annoying new behavior.

Whatever was "standard" tapping before (for me) is now much harder on my watch. I just tested the watch and had to tap it 5 times firmly before it lit up.

Sorry if there are long threads about this I missed. I couldn't figure out how to search the forum.

It happened in the latest release, I think. Quite recently. You don't need to tap harder, just slower.
