6.50 SW Battery Drain

Hi,

I updated my VA4 to 6.50 yesterday. Since the battery went down REALLY quick : charged the watch at 5pm, it told me this morning at 9am it has only 10% left.

I did not change any settings (no SPO2, no bluetooth or music or whatever).

Can you help ?!

Please leave a comment if you have a similar issue since 6.50 update.

    I have been having the exact same issue. I've been using the MyBattery widget for a long time, and typically had between 4.8 and 5.2% per hour drain on my VA4S's battery. This was using the SC8 watch face. Since the 6.50 update, the consumption has almost doubled, and is now 6.8-7.8% per hour.

    I finally gave in and opened a support case after 6.50. The problem is the battery loses all of its memory with 6.50. So if you were only 50% charged when you updated it thinks 50% is the highest it can charge...dumb move. Anyway, I plugged my watch into my computer with Garmin Express running and let it charge overnight (probably only needed a couple of hours once it hits what it thinks is 100%. Do a power off/on and then a sync with Garmin Express and I am back down to less than 1% per hour.

    Tried your trick… still loosing 4% every 5 minutes!

    wow I faced exactly the reverse problem, my watch is always showing at 100% even after few hours! Why is this so....power cycling does not fix it! madness....!

    That is quite common. My watch stays at 100 percent around 20 hours after charging, and it has been like that since it was new, years ago.

    Same issue as OP just last night. No pulse ox.

    I'm also having troubles with mine, 50% off battery in 24h or less, no Bluetooth, brightness set to minimum, VO2 only during the night, no gps, no faces, screen without too much animated info...

    I'm gonna give it a last try and set the back light not to activate on movement (only on touch) and also disconnect VO2 during the night.

    I am having the rapid battery drain issue. I am on software 6.50. I just updated recently and ever since I’ve had this issue. As suggested I removed the non-Garmin watch face and did a power cycle and still the battery is rapidly draining.
