Cannot connect to GPS after 6.4 update

I have recently updated to the 6.4 version of the SW and now when I try to activate the Walk app it never connects to GPS to records the track.

It is just stuck constantly on the screen "Wait for GPS".

I cannot believe I am the only one to see this...

  • hello. The same thing is happening to me, I have problems with the GPS connection, even not recording the map after a running activity.

  • Been seeing the same thing on the WALK with GPS began yesterday.

    Never getting past the "wait for GPS". Outdoors, clear view of sky, no trees..... Thanks again for a great Quality Control Update!

    Just went out today. waiting for GPS red line went half-way then back to beginning then after about 4 minutes finally connected.

    Never seen that happen before. Always a quick, maybe 30 seconds, then GPS is ready.

  • I have the same problem.  My VA will sit on "Wait for GPS" with a full red line for 10+ minutes.  It's really frustrating.  I end up starting my run and fingers crossed the GPS connects within the first tenth of a mile.  

    My 10 year old Forerunner 220 connects way faster than this watch.  

  • Hello all.  Please hard reset your watch, then sync it with Garmin Express.  

    To perform a hard reset, press and hold the power button on your watch.  Ignore the "Power Off" question and the assistance alert (if applicable) on your watch, just continue holding the power button pressed down until the screen goes blank.  Once this occurs, you may release the button.  Allow the watch to sit powered off for a few seconds, then you may power it back on by pressing and releasing the power button.

    How Do I Install Garmin Express?

    After syncing with Garmin Express, please proceed outside and attempt to connect to GPS.  The first connection may take up to 10 minutes, but thereafter, should connect quickly.
